The problem
Preparing business expense claims was taking time our founder wanted to spend on more meaningful work. He wanted a more manageable way to complete the task.
The starting point
He came from a non-IT background with limited coding and programming knowledge. He understood the problem from his own experience and began exploring how AI could help him build a solution.
Building with AI assistance
AI supported the development process: exploring possible solutions, explaining unfamiliar concepts, helping write code, and assisting with refinements. The application became a way to learn through working on a real need.
A useful result
Our founder now uses ClaimBridge for his own expense claims and reports that it meets the purpose he set out to address.
Growing through the work
Alongside the application came a new capability: turning a problem he understood into working software. It is an early example of how building and learning can develop together.

Extracts merchant names, dates, tax breakdowns, and payment currencies from receipt photos using structured multimodal AI parsing.
Multi-Currency Conversion
Pulls benchmark reference exchange rates matching transaction dates to generate unified HKD reimbursement claims automatically.
Human Judgment & Editing
Highlights confidence scores on every line item, keeping the user in full control to verify, edit, or override any parsed field before submission.

The challenge
Emerging tech organizations often oscillate between generic off-the-shelf templates and expensive, unmaintainable agency retainers. thyl Labs needed a rigorous, durable brand system that could govern digital products, typography, color semantics, and layout without visual chaos.
The collaborative process
Guided by a non-designer founder, AI agents served as specialized design consultants across nine governed development milestones (RC1-B to RC1-I freeze). The process required strict cross-checking, mathematical clearspace proofs, and systematic rule consolidation.
The frozen release
The result is a 61-page human brand guideline authority (THYL_LABS_BRAND_GUIDELINES_v1.0.0.pdf) accompanied by 172 inventoried release assets, strict x-height bounding clearspace, semantic color tokens, and Dark Luminous physics.

Establishing the brand system demonstrated that design is fundamentally about structured systems, constraints, and clarity. AI helped transform abstract values into an actionable, frozen engineering specification.

Progress moves upward. Energy begins in the lower sector and ascends diagonally (~25° bias) into fresh green lift.
Convergence Behaviour
Two forces meet. Build (Bright Blue) and Grow (Fresh Green) converge around a focal point, leaving a calm reading core.
Flow Behaviour
Energy guides the eye. Luminous stream enters upper-left and moves diagonally downward to guide the visitor to jump targets.
Emergence Behaviour
A new idea appears. Strong radiant field enters from outside the left edge, reinforcing "Let's begin with your idea."

The challenge
The modern web is frequently burdened with heavy JavaScript bundles, invasive tracking cookies, third-party analytics pixels, and fragile runtime dependencies. thyl Labs set out to prove a corporate presence can be beautiful while remaining fast, accessible, and privacy-respecting.
Zero-bloat static architecture
Built with Astro and native Vanilla CSS design tokens directly implementing Brand System v1.0.0. The entire clientside JavaScript bundle across the site is only 7.88 kB (2.76 kB gzipped), delivering instant loading and zero layout shift.
Radical client-side privacy
The interactive Contact email draft helper executes strictly within browser memory. No entries are ever transmitted or stored on any server or database; zero marketing pixels, zero tracking cookies, and 100% self-hosted fonts.
Universal accessibility & craft
Strict landmark hierarchy (single main landmark across all 7 routes), 100% image alt text, full keyboard navigation with visible focus rings, 44px minimum touch targets, and motion sensitivity that respects prefers-reduced-motion without breaking user feedback.
Zero-Server Client-Side Email Helper
Instead of harvesting personal form submissions in a vulnerable cloud database, our Contact page operates entirely on the visitor’s own hardware:
